Hello Reader, Too much all at once is one of the top challenges from CELPIP Speaking task 3 where you have just 60 seconds to describe a busy image. Busy = lots going on all at once. The common problem you might find yourself in? Where do I begin, and how will I fit all that into just 60 seconds!? If that's where you find yourself with this task, then you're in the right place! Join me for the most introvert friendly (and fun!) training session you'll ever have where you'll learn practical strategies to beat this task. When? Thursday, October 8 at 5pm pacific time. Save your spot here. (Yes, it really is free.) You'll get an hour long training session, that will include fun practice activities, the opportunity to meet great people just like you who are working HARD to achieve their CELPIP goals, and a bonus 3 day pop up chat room in my new online community space where we'll actually practice responding to this task together. That's practice + one-on-one feedback from me on your answers. Sign up now - spaces are limited. **** This week I had the exciting opportunity to interview 2 members of the CELPIP Success School for the podcast. This was so much fun, and the very first time I've ever done something like this. A special shout-out to Artem and Nestor - thank you for sharing a little more of your story with me! One of the things I've noticed in these conversations? Their willingness to do new things to grow their skills in English. Both of them love listening to podcasts, but neither of them had ever been on one! But both of them faced something that made them REALLY nervous, with the purpose of sharing their story with you- and finding a new way to get some practice in! Great job guys! Keep watching! Their episodes will be coming out in October. **** And talking about the CELPIP Success School, did you know that members get to join a weekly live hour long group office hours session where we focus on any CELPIP topic they need extra help with? This week they asked if we could work on CELPIP Speaking task 5. Examples. Time to practice together + a mini challenge to create their own response over the next few days. We also had a guest speaker who also happens to be a member! Special thanks to Honee for sharing her really cool (and brave!) story of joining Toastmasters, a club designed to help you become a better public speaker). Her inspiring story, just like Artem and Nestor's, encouraged us to never let fear keep you stuck with your English. Hey...you could be a part of this growing small but might community! If you're working to get ready for your CELPIP exam, then this is a great spot to do it! The CELPIP Success School is THE MOST introvert friendly spot online dedicated to helping you finally score 9+ on your test. You can join right now and finally stop working at this on your own. Questions first? Just reply to this email and let me know. I'm happy to help. Thanks for reading, and have a lovely rest of your week. Aaron |

Hello Reader, The quick answer: a big fat FALSE. Living in Canada for 10 years DOES NOT = acing the CELPIP. In fact, it can = being stuck at the same English level as when you first started! In this week's podcast, you'll hear about a person who has been in Canada 10+ years but they are still stuck at an intermediate/upper intermediate level of English. The problem: they desperately need a 10 on the CELPIP for their PR. But you know what? Their real problem isn't being stuck at an 8. The real...
Hello Reader, It's Saturday already! Wow, this week has gone by quickly for me. How about you? And now that my youngest is back in school, we now have had our first bouts with the flu! He's been home sick for the past few days - welcome to school life! Kids sharing everything with each other - including their germs. Happens every year! Do you have kids in school right now? How's it going? **** A quick challenge for you: pause and take look back at your week. Where have you made progress, even...
Hello Reader, I'm pushing myself to step out of my comfort zone again, and I'm doing it in a variety of ways. Before the summer I was working, semi regularly, on creating youtube videos to help you with your CELPIP prep. But I stopped because my family and I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Mexico to visit family. Two months vanished. And I didn't make any videos OR audio podcasts. Guess what happened? When I started making them again, I felt a little rusty. I made way more mistakes....
