Hello Reader, Last week my van broke down in the middle of the night as I was on my way home from, get this, helping my son jumpstart his car because his had broken down. That's a double break down, if you're keeping score! (I felt a little like this gif 👇 ) and you get huge bonus points if you know what movie this gif is from. The crazier part? My van was sending me warning signals that something was wrong, but I was ignoring them. Our body can also be talking to us, and it can be easy to ignore what they are trying to say. In this week's podcast, I'll be sharing what I learned from ignoring the warning signals my van was sending me and, more importantly how I'm trying to NOT ignore the signals my body is sending me to try and keep me from running my own battery down. 🎧 You can listen here: Don't ignore these warning signs in your CELPIP prep journey But what about my CELPIP prep?I know I'm talking a lot about mental health and burnout lately, and I'm not sorry about that. Here's what I know: you are far more important and valuable than an immigration process, the number on an immigration score, or any language proficiency exam result, like the CELPIP or IELTS. I think the process of immigration has a terrible ability to run you down and drain your emotional, physical and spiritual well being. Do you agree? I felt the drain during my wife and kid's immigration process back when we arrived in Canada 10 years ago. And I felt that same drain when I was trying to keep legal in Mexico where I lived for 16 years. It's hard. It's draining. And when you're running on empty, you won't be able to function well enough to get ready for the CELPIP or the IELTS. I don't want that to happen for you. So, please take care. Please pay attention to your body's warning signals if it's sending you any right now. And thank you for reading. Aaron |

Hello Reader, Next week's podcast will feature the most common mistakes I've noticed people making this year as they've practiced for the CELPIP so you hopefully won't make them. But today I wanted to share one of the best CORRECT or right things to do that I've noticed when it comes to vocabulary building. Are you ready? When you hear or learn a new word in English, immediately use it. (After, of course, you're sure what that new word means!) The best and fastest way to learn your new word,...
Hello Reader, I am so sore! This past weekend I worked on building a dresser we picked up at IKEA for my kids. I must say that IKEA instruction manuals SUCK. (Sorry if you love IKEA instruction manuals..maybe my mind just doesn't understand them well.) I had to backtrack on my build progress several times because I had not correctly understood the instructions. Backtracking on an IKEA build means unscrewing and pulling apart things you had just screwed and put together. It sucks time and...
Hello Reader, Last Sunday afternoon I went on an hour long road trip to visit my Dad because I didn't get a chance to see him at Christmas. We had a nice time visiting and eating together. He showed me a painting he was working on restoring. Pretty cool! And, as many of you know, I'm an avid podcast listener, so I had my podcast app LOADED with shows to keep my ears and brain busy on the road. I've been looking for new shows to like so many of the episodes I downloaded were brand new. Never...
