Hello Reader, Remember this: progress happens one small step at a time. This is true about most things that matter in life - including your CELPIP prep! I have two recent podcasts for you:βπ§ Is AI Really Helping You Prepare for the CELPIP? π§Where is your strength coming from?β A little more info...βπ§ Is AI Really Helping You Prepare for the CELPIP? One of my favourite takeaways: AI should supplement your practice time, but never be used INSTEAD of actually talking and interacting with people in English. And don't believe everything AI tells you. It makes mistakes. It gets facts wrong - I've had to correct it SEVERAL times about CELPIP speaking task information, for example. And when it comes to taking feedback from AI - also don't believe EVERYTHING it tells you. AI doesn't have what you have: feelings. Life experience. And the ability to convey those feelings through the tone of your voice. And because it doesn't have those characteristics, it's hard (maybe not even possible) for it to accurately evaluate your speaking tasks in particular. You'll need human help for that. **** π§Where is your strength coming from? I'm starting to drop spiritual care focused episodes on different days than my normal ones. They'll always be clearly labeled so you know the difference. In this episode: immigrating to Canada and working towards your CELPIP goals are FILLED with pressures, obstacles, deep challenges and discouragements (as well as victories!). This is not just a fill out paperwork, study and work hard to succeed experience. It's also a deeply spiritual one that can hit you hard and in places you never thought you'd be hit: your identity! Your sense of belonging. Your sense of purpose. And where you draw your strength from matters if you want to make it through one of the most challenging (and rewarding) experiences you can have. If you're not into what I'm talking about on these spiritual care focused episodes, no problem! Feel free to skip them and keep enjoying my regular ones. Those won't be changing. I hope you enjoy them! Do you have a CELPIP prep related question you'd like me to answer in an upcoming episode? Just reply and let me know. I'll do my best to answer it for you on the podcast. Have a great rest of your week. Aaron |

Hello Reader, A few months ago I was listening to a client describing the image you see below - a crowded playground on a bright spring day. They loved the spot in the picture where a woman is sitting with her dog enjoying the sun, so they started talking all about them because they loved dogs! The busy playground But I was totally lost! Instead of listening to what my client was saying, I was lost in the picture trying to figure out where the dog was. There's a dog in here? I couldn't find...
Hello Reader, There really is nothing better than getting into a conversation with a small group of people. It is one of THE best ways around to help you get ready for the CELPIP and build your English skills in general at the same time. Yesterday at work, for example, there were about 6 people sitting at the same table where I was, enjoying a hot coffee and chatting about everything from the census that is going on in Canada right now, the weather (because always something to talk about...
Hello Reader, I know you want your English skills to get stronger., and I know you want to speak calmly and confidently on the CELPIP exam. (Right?) If that matters to you, then I have an important word I want to offer you that will set you free! FREQUENCY. (and I talk about it in this week's podcast.) The best way I know for you to get stronger English skills and more confidence for the CELPIP is by you using your English more often each day. Higher frequency of practice is what you're...
