Hello Reader, Have you been following the World Cup? Who are your favourite teams? Go ahead, hit reply and tell me - it would be great to hear from you, and bonus: you get some writing practice in! My family and I have been watching many of the games. The main teams we're rooting for are Canada and Mexico. For all the other matches we are mostly cheering for the underdog teams. (Maybe Canada is one of those kinds of teams!) Wouldn't it be great if a 'nobody' team somehow managed to topple one of the stronger teams out there? (I think it would be cool, anyway!) Today, as I write this, it's just an hour or so after the exciting Iran vs New Zealand match. What a game! I think I'm now a fan of Iran. - I loved how hard they fought for those goals. Never giving up even when coming from behind. I know you know this...even if you're not a football fan - but there's a lot of life lessons happening on those playing fields, aren't there? Namely: never give up. Keep pressing. Keep taking your shot, even when you feel like you're fighting from behind. Never give up with using your English. Keep pressing. Keep taking those opportunities to speak with others. Keep trying, even when you feel like you've fallen behind. And, by the way, if you'd like someone to cheer you on and actually keep you pushing towards your CELPIP goals, why not work with me? **** I see posts like this all the time: "I got 12's on the CELPIP on my first try. DM me for the exact templates I used." Have you seen posts like these? Maybe not the same language being used, but posts that promise you high scores effortlessly or by following some 'secret hack.' I hope you never fall for messages like that. Instead, here's what 17+ years of teaching English has taught me about learning English that will REALLY help you - and it totally applies to getting ready for the CELPIP too. If you clicked the link and read the post, what is one way you will put the idea to work today? Have a great week, Aaron |

Hello Reader, I've been working on something that might be just what you have been looking for if you have been living in Canada for a while now, like years, but your English skills don't seem to have gotten any better. And even worse, you can't seem to get the CELPIP score you need for your immigration process. (By the way, here's a secret: your CELPIP score is directly tied to your current level of English. Build your English skills, and your CELPIP score will go up too. ) Back to what I've...

Hello Reader, A little while ago a viewer from my Youtube channel asked if I would make a video to help with their writing skills for the CELPIP. I haven't created content on my channel on that topic yet, but I wanted to know if that is something you would be interested in? What would you like me to talk about next? Yes - writing skills would be helpful! Listening skills Speaking skills Reading skills Just general English - I don't need the CELPIP Recently on Reddit I saw this question: "Does...
